A new dating site is here to make relationships great again, at least for Donald Trump’s supporters.
The website is called Trump.Dating and its objective is to connect like-minded Americans with one another to build a relationship on the foundation of ‘matching patriotic and political viewpoints’. Trump.Dating hopes to help its users find ‘the America first partner of your dreams’ without sifting through profiles featuring anti-Trump sentiments like ‘no Trump supporters’ and ‘Proud liberal’.
‘We’re wrecking the dating game and giving like-minded Americans a chance to meet without the awkwardness that comes with the first conversation about politics,’ the website states. ‘Wouldn’t it be refreshing to already know that your date roots for the same team?’
Trump.Dating is free to use and can be accessed on both desktop and mobile. The site has been getting a lot of attention on social media, though a majority of it has been negative. Users noted several interesting things while signing up to use the pro-Trump dating service.
A new pro-Donald Trump dating site has launched in the hopes of uniting conservative singles
For one, Trump.Dating allows users who are both ‘happily married’ and ‘unhappily married’ sign up for the site. Others pointed out that the site only includes to option to select ‘straight man’ or ‘straight woman’ as your gender and sexual preference, excluding trans and LGBTQ potential users.
Another Twitter user shared his attempt to sign up for the site under the username ‘Whitepower.’ A prompt from the site popped up, revealing that the username had already been chosen.

While many of the issues Twitter users had with Trump.Dating were serious, others couldn’t help but poke fun at the dating site. Before long people were chiming in with new names for the service, including ‘OkStupid.’ Other Twitter users suggested catchy taglines for the pro-Trump site.
‘Build that wall…but not around your heart,’ Twitter user Charlie Sundin suggested.

‘Okay leaving aside the 800000000 other more pressing concerns about this concept why would you not use that tagline MAKE AMERICA DATE AGAIN,’ Alexandra Petri tweeted.
The site was created by Friends Worldwide, Inc., a network of niche dating websites that reach ‘over 75 diverse dating communities’. Trump.Dating, however, features photos of largely white-presenting couples on the landing page for its site.
Trump.Dating creators have not discussed their reasoning for creating such an app, but a June 2017 article from the Sacramento Bee noted an increase in anti-Trump sentiments on dating sites and apps like OkCupid, Tinder and Bumble. More and more users included phrases like: ‘Trump lovers please swipe left, and go to your room and think about what you’ve done.’

Relationship coach and eflirtexpert.com founder Laurie Davis Edwards told the publication that following the election there was a ‘new deal-breaker’ in budding romances and that deal breaker was Trump.
‘I’ve never seen it like this before, where people say “no” to Trump supporters, or they only want to date other Trump supporters,’ she said. ‘It tells me that people are valuing politics much higher as a preference than they were before….It’s another example of how massively our dating culture has changed over the past four years, partly because of politics and also because of technology.’

A Pew study on partisanship and political animosity published in 2016 supported Davis Edwards’s thinking. Researchers found the 55 percent of Democrats expressed fear for the Republican Party, while 49 percent of Republicans said the same about Democrats. Those numbers increased to nearly 70 percent and 63 percent respectively among people who vote regularly and are more politically involved.
Trump.Dating isn’t the first dating site aimed at supporters of the current administration. Trump Singles launched in January 2017, but finding love on that site comes at a cost. Users must pay $19.95 per month to use the service.
